LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. S# 13987. Bbl. 26" octagon. Sporting front sight, V-notch leaf rear sight, folding leaf has been cut off. Full length mag. Blue finish with case colored action. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock, with crescent steel buttplate. Mfg. in 1887, second year of production. CONDITION: nice original rifle. Bbl. and mag. tube retain 80% lightly worn blue, showing edge wear, with small marks and spots. Action retains traces of case colors, with balance fading to mottled silver/gray. Original wood finish shows moderate wear, with scattered scratches and marks. Sound action. Very good bright bore. (01-27249/DS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
