LEVER ACTION SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 GA. S# 14573. Bbl. 21 1/4". Model 1887 lever action shotgun mfg. by Winchester in 1888 (second year of production). Left side of the receiver is marked with the WRA Co. monogram logo, with the lower receiver tang exhibiting Winchester's mfg. and patent information. Single screw 2-panel forearm and plain wood rnd. knob buttstock with checkered steel buttplate. Brass bead front sight. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a dark mottled gray and brown patina, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting overall. Bore exhibits scattered spots of mild pitting, as well as scattered patches of mild to moderate pitting. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage. Forearm panels exhibit chipping, with a crack present at the front of either panel. Buttstock exhibits scattered marks, impressions, and gouges, with 2 cracks present on the left (one stemming from the receiver, the other from the receiver tang), and a large chip present on the right side of the wrist.
