LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). S# 28322. Bbl. 24" octagon. Original sights with Lyman "D" tang sight. Full length mag. Blue finish, with case colored hammer and lever. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock, with crescent steel buttplate. Mfg. in 1893. CONDITION: 50% dull blue fading to brown, showing light surface freckling and spots of very light pitting. Hammer and lever show faint traces of case colors. Buttplate shows some light surface oxidation. Original wood finish shows wear, with numerous scratches and marks. Sound mechanics. Bore is generally bright with strong rifling showing scattered light pitting. (01-27072/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000
