MACHINE PISTOL. The Stechkin automatic pistol is a Soviet select fire machine pistol typically chambered in 9x18mm Makarov introduced into service in 1951. Designed by Igor Yakovlevich Stechkin as a personal defense weapon for those in confined spaces such as tankers & pilots, this straight blowback select fire machine pistol was intended to offer sufficient fire power w/ out taking up the room a full size rifle would necessitate. As one would imagine, because these are select fire they are quite rare to find in the United States. Long Mountain Outfitters facilitated the import of a sm. Number of these in the 1990s, all either post 86 dealer samples, or reduced to parts kits. The stock is a brown bakelite material w/ a spring loaded hinge at the buttplate. It is actuated by use of a button. Since they double as a holster when not in use, it has a belt clip on the left side for right side carry. The stock interfaces w/ the pistol grip in a similar manner to the familiar Browning Hi-Power & Colt 1911 systems. CONDITION: the stock appears to be completely operational missing only the pistol itself as the key component. There are normal scratches & impressions as found in armory type equipment. All springs are strong & locks/latches function in a positive manner. (02-15347/JZ). NON-GUN. $200-300.
