. Cal. 11mm Mauser. S# 8637. Bbl. 24 1/2". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated with no visible numbers. Matching numbers on receiver, rear sight & bbl. Other visible parts are unnumbered or mismatched. 1871 Mauser converted to short rifle config. possibly by Siam. Receiver ring has Siamese Chakara marking. No discernable maker's marking on bbl. Reblued finish. Shortened walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. No ramrod or rear band spring present with both bands very loose. Rear lower tang screw is a more modern replacement. CONDITION: sanded stock set shows scattered cracks, poor metal fit, chipping, staining, dings & handling wear. Metal shows notable pitting all along the woodline, scattered oxidation, edge wear & dings. Bolt does not cock properly & will need attention to fix. Bore shows scattered pitting patches but good rifling. (01-28940/MJC). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
