Cal. 11mm Mauser. S# 43F. Bbl. 32 3/4". Standard 1871 Mauser sights. Matching numbers on receiver, bbl., rear sight, buttplate, rear band screw & rear trigger guard screw. Bolt parts are mismatched & remaining parts have illegible numbers. Bbl. has Mauser Oberndorf marking. Receiver has Siamese Chakara with added white highlight. Reblued finish. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted rear sling swivel. Right side of butt has faded Wurttemberg cipher. Rear band & keeper are loose & front sling swivel was broken off. Cleaning rod & front band keeper are missing. CONDITION: stock set appears to have an old arseanl refinish with a 2" crack behind upper tang, a 5" crack on underside of forend, a few other smaller scattered cracks, a large chip on right side above trigger guard, further scattered chipping, dings, scratches & handling marks. Brass trigger guard is a dull yellow patina with scattered oxidation, staining & dings. Bolt shows appears to be nickel plated with scattered flaking, oxidation & pitting. Balance of metal shows overall fading to gray with some tool marks at rear of bbl., strong traces of reblue finish, scattered pitting, oxidation & dings. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows several notable pitting patches along its length with evident rifling. PROVENANCE: From the PMRB Collection. (01-28404/MJC). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
