INSET BOY’S PERCUSSION RIFLE. Cal. 38. NSN. Bbl. 46" overall, 30.5" oct. signed in script “DM DRAKE EVERETT”. Dbl. set triggers, no patchbox, 14 German silver inlays. This is a very fine example of little known Bedford County maker. Dolphus M. Drake (1853-1955) lived & worked as gunsmith & carpenter for over 80 years in Everett, Pennsylvania. When he died at 102 in 1955, he was the longest living Bedford County resident. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: several pages of research on Dolphus Drake. CONDITION: very good to fine, appears all original w/ no repair or alterations, good surfaces throughout, mechanically fine including set triggers, clear rifled bore. (01-19972/JS).
