LAWRENCE WINDSOR, VT”. Cal. 12 Ga. NSN. The 42" bbl. w/ underrib is stamped w/ “V” “P” & eagle head proofs at left rear. Percussion system is drum and nipple. Backspring lock w/ rnd. bodied broad hammer has some scroll engraving surrounding maker’s name & address. Apple wood stock w/ painted contrasting tip is brass mounted. Square bow trigger guard w/ finger spur has loop at rear forming grip. Buttplate has steeple type finial. Hickory ramrod w/ brass tip is held by two plain iron pipes & simple brass thimble. Stock attaches to bbl. w/ sidebolt through oval German silver escutcheons. CONDITION: good, metal parts retaining nearly all dark brown patina w/ considerable pitting. Stock w/ most of its old oil refinish has many marks. Brass is well toned. Bore is dark and rusted. Lock operable. (01-21154/MGM). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
