This mold was likely for a Colt 1860 Army 44-cal. revolver. It measures 12 3/4" overall and is primarily made of iron. It casts six conical miniball bullets in one pour. The mold is marked near the top “44 R” and with the inspector’s script initials “WAT”. The lower part of the mold is marked twice, “A.H.K”. The wooden handles are 5” long with brass ferrules at the top; one ferrule has the number “151” stamped into it. CONDITION: the mold shows light wear overall and functions very well. There is minor staining on the iron and a few scuffs and scrapes on the wooden handles. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Edward Scott Meadows. (02-22111/BF). $600-900.
