1) Trench Knife fabricated from Gras Rifle Bayonet. 7 3/8" bright "T" profile blade. 12 1/4" overall. Knife is a shortened Gras bayonet. Arsenal quality conversion work. Blade is marked on top in script "L. Deny Paris 1878". Muzzle ring, curved quillon & latch are retained. Quillon carries serial number & several inspector's marks. Brass pommel & smooth hardwood grips retained by two rivets. Scabbard is not present. CONDITION: steel parts have light wear & scattered small spots of oxidation. Brass has a bright cleaned appearance. Grips have light wear, staining & small crack on left grip. 2) Model 1874 Gras Bayonet. 20 1/2" bright "T" profile blade. 25 3/8" overall. Bayonet is marked on top "ST. ETIENNE 1878". Serial number matches scabbard. Curved quillon. Brass pommel. Smooth hardwood grips. Matching bright steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade has light wear. Crossguard turning gray & patina. Brass pommel has bright green finish w/ varnish added to both grips & pommel. Scabbard is turning gray & patina w/ several moderate dents. 3) 1885 Lebel Shortened Version Bayonet. 13 1/2" quadrangular spike blade.14 1/2" quarter inches overall. Bayonet retains the curved quillon which carries the serial number. Silver colored alloy handle. Scabbard is not present. CONDITION: steel parts have light wear & peppery oxidation. Handle has light wear & small handling marks. 4) Model 1886 Lebel Bayonet. 20 1/2" quadrangular spike blade. 25 1/8" overall. Curved quillon carries serial number. Silver colored alloy handle. Steel scabbard. CONDITION: metal turning gray & patina w/ light wear & scattered handling marks. Scabbard has turned overall patina w/ numerous dents. Frog loop on scabbard is partially detached. 5) Model 1886 Lebel Bayonet. 20 1/2" quadrangular spike blade. 25 1/8" overall. Bayonet manufactured w/o curved quillon. Serial number carried on bottom of crossguard. Brass handle. Matching steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade has light wear & areas of oxidation. Balance of steel parts turned overall patina. Brass handle has dark patina'd appearance. Scabbard w/ black finish is in good condition w/ scattered flecks of white paint. 6) French Model 1892 First Pattern Bayonet for Berthier Rifle. 15 3/4" bright fullered blade. 20 3/8" overall. Blade has the characteristic groove in the top & notches near the crossguard for scabbard retention. Blade is marked on top in script "CHAT 1893". Curved quillon. Composite grips secured by two rivets. Steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade turning gray w/ wear & spots of oxidation throughout. Balance of metal is worn, turning mostly patina & light oxidation. Grips have wear & notable cracks through the rivets on both sides. Steel scabbard has dark patina'd appearance w/ moderate wear. 7). Model 1949/56 MAS Bayonet. Distinctive bayonet made w/ two rings, one in the crossguard & one at the hilt. 7 7/8" parkerized blade. 12 3/4" overall. Bayonet is marked on front of crossguard "MET / F". Steel scabbard w/ green leather frog & U.S. type belt hook. Scabbard is marked "MET / F". CONDITION: metal retains 70% of its thinning parkerized finish. Grips have a good appearance w/ light wear. Scabbard has wear & thinning. Stitching & rivets are tight. (02-24537-18/RW). NON-GUN. $400-600.
