Cal. 45 Colt. S# S&W2823. Bbl. 6 1/2" pinned with red ramp front sight and frame mounted white outlined Micrometer rear. Model 25-3 made 1977 (standard version; S# S&W00501-S&W10000) commemorating S&W's 125th Anniversary. Barrel marked with "45 CALIBER" on left plus "SMITH & WESSON / 125TH ANNIVERSARY" on right. Sideplate has commemorative markings; all markings gold filled except trademark. Blued with case colored grooved target trigger and checkered target hammer. S&W smooth Goncalo Alves target grips with thumb recess on left and speed loader style cut on right to display sideplate markings. Non-serrated grip straps as on vintage Hand Ejector models. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching factory blue cardboard revolver box with anniversary marking on top (contains normal paperwork), "125 Years with Smith & Wesson" book by Roy G. Jinks (compartment under lid for book), commemorative mahogany display case with rosewood finish (blue velvet interior), unattached 125th plaque for top with area for personal engraving before installing, case key, commemorative pewter coin (display provision in base) plus large cardboard shipping box (compartmentalized for all items in set). CONDITION: metal finish is near excellent with very faint beginning cylinder turn line, faint radial finish loss at high points on outer edge of cylinder face plus very small spot of loss by front sight. Grips have chip at bottom rear of each. Balance of revolver is near excellent (including bore) with unfired appearance. Display case appears new. (24-3923/NW). CURIO. $500-750.
