REVOLVER. Cal. 45 S&W. S# 5900. Bbl. 7" w/ rib & semi-circular pinned blade front sight. Six shot fluted cyl. Top break action. Blued finish w/ case colored hammer & trigger guard. Bbl. has inspector's initials "ENP". 2 piece walnut grips. Left panel has "JRJr" cartouche over 1876 date. Right panel has a "CW" cartouche. Total US contract was 5,285, 1876-77. CONDITION: bbl. & cyl. retains 30% dull blue in protected areas w/ fading on sides. Frame retains 60% fading blue. Grips show wear & handling marks. Sound mechanics. Lightly pitted bore retains sound rifling. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Edward Scott Meadows. (01-24700/DS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
