Cal. 357 Mag. S# 50117 found on the butt and inside of the ejector channel. Registration number 1807 found on the inside of the yoke. 6 3/8" pinned barrel with rib. Top of rib, target frame and hammer spur are finely checkered. Gold bead ramp mounted blade front with white outline adjustable rear sight. Fluted 6 shot counter bored cylinder. Grooved trigger. Grooved front and rear grip straps. Blue finish with case colored hammer and trigger. Diamond center checkered walnut square butt Magna grips. Smith & Wesson introduced the .357 Magnum in 1935 and at the time was the most powerful handgun ever produced. The Register Magnum is at the pinnacle of Smith & Wesson collecting. Approx. 5245 Registered Magnums were manufactured from 1935 thru 1939. They are found in S# range 45768-62489. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: later production Smith & Wesson mahogany case with blue interior; cleaning rod with brush, swab and aluminum fluted handle screwdriver with short tapered end (ca. 1964-1988). CONDITION: over 95% original blue showing light muzzle and edge wear. Side plate shows small spots of finish loss with a 1 1/4" scratch behind the extractor shroud. The cylinder shows a drag line. Very good grips show a few small marks. Tight sound action. Near excellent bore. (26-1017/DS). CURIO. $3,000-5,000.
