Cal. 38 Spl. S# S148995. Bbl. 6 1/2" pinned. Round blade front sight. Fixed rear sight. Matching numbers on grip frame, cyl., extractor & bbl. Bbl. number is on rear face of ejector housing & has a star denoting factory rebarrel. 1955-1956 made five-screw 38/44 Outdoorsman Model of 1950 Revolver. Nickel finish with case colored trigger & hammer. Checkered walnut grips with silver S&W medallions & diamond center. Number on right panel of grip is faint & does not appear to match frame. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unnumbered gold factory box for a 6 1/2" nickel 38/44 Heavy Duty & factory letter that states the gun shipped with a 4" bbl but was nickel finished. Letter further states that the gun was part of a 6-gun shipment to Lyles, Monhans in El, Paso in 1956. CONDITION: grips show some worn checkering, light dings & handling marks. Trigger & hammer retain most of their case colors with some operational wear & light oxidation. Balance of metal retains most of its factory reworked nickel with some oxidation mostly on grip frame, handling marks & operational wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled.
