UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter from the Office of Smith & Wesson Revolver Manufacturers detailing the following information, "We have researched your Smith & Wesson .38/44 Outdoorsman, Pre-Model 23 Variation, caliber .38 S&W Special. Company records indicate that this handgun with serial number S98184 was shipped from the factory on May 1, 1953, and delivered to Rex Firearms Co, New York, NY. The records indicate that this revolver was shipped with a 6.5-inch barrel equipped Patridge front sight, blue and checkered walnut Magna grips. This shipment contained 5 units of this model in the above configuration and they were billed at $51.76 each. We have enclosed a copy of the invoice for your records. The target grips were added after the revolver was shipped from the factory.". 2 Piece gold box w/ proper label. Box flaps & edges are tattered.
