Cal. 44 S&W Spl. S# 34082. Bbl. 6.5". Mfg.1930. Blued finish. 5-screw double action revolver built on the square butt N frame. Matching numbers on frame, barrel, cylinder & ejector. While it is noted that the few Target Models actually manufactured w/ the 6.5" barrel often had a shrouded extractor housing, our sources indicate that since they were built simultaneously w/ the 2nd Models, often overlapping, some utilized the earlier barrels. 6 shot fluted cylinder measuring 1.57". Round, pinned 6" barrel, numbered to frame & cylinder. Tall patridge front sight & adjustable rear target sights. Frame has 6 line serrated backstrap & forestrap. Front sight pinned on raised boss. Rounded rear leaf contoured to top strap. Hammer measures .260" in width. Small S&W Trademark on left side. Barrel marked "Smith & Wesson" on left side & " 44 S&W Special Ctg" on right. Factory refinish date stamp on frame under left grip panel marked; "10 53". Single diamond checkered grips w/ silver S&W medallions at top. Right grip numbered to frame. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory S&W gold box w/ steel corners. (Non matching). CONDITION: blued finish is complete & consistent. Some thinning at muzzle, on high spots w/ thin drag line on cylinder. Small scratch over lettering on right side of barrel. Appears to have been reblued October 1953 based on markings under grips. Grips in very nice condition w/ sharp checkering Right grip numbered to frame has 2.5" crack visible from inside. Medallions are clear & crisp. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. (22-3074/JZ).
