Cal. 44 Spcl. S# S146179. Bbl. 5" pinned. Patridge front sight. Adjustable square notch rear sight. Matching numbers on grip frame, bbl., cyl. & extractor. 4th Model Target 44 Hand Ejector Target revolver. Five screw revolver made 1955. Blued finish with case colored hammer & trigger. Unnumbered checkered walnut target grips with silver S&W medallions & diamond center. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory letter that states this revolver was shipped to Railey Milam Company in Miami, FL in December 1955. Further the letter states the revolver shipped with a 6 1/2" bbl. meaning the bbl. is altered & there were two guns in the shipment. CONDITION: grips show a couple light small chips & some handling marks. Hammer & trigger retain strong amounts of case colors with some fading to gray, operational wear & light oxidation. Balance of metal retains 98% factory quality reblue with some light edge & operational wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bright near excellent bore.
