PISTOL. Cal. 22 LR. S# 11157. Bbl. 10". Bead front sight, and the V-notch rear sight appears to be a replacement. First Model 1891 "Perfected" S&W single-shot pistol, mfg. 1909–1923. Matching numbers on the bbl. and grip frame. Blued finish with a case-colored trigger, trigger guard, and hammer. Later, unmarked brown bakelite replacement grips. CONDITION: grips show a large chip at the bottom front, a few large dents, scattered dings, and handling wear. Trigger, trigger guard, and hammer are turning gray with traces of case colors and scattered oxidation. The balance of metal retains 50% of its blue with overall flaking to brown, some edge wear, dings, and oxidation. Good bore with strong rifling and some light pitting.
