FACTORY BOX. Cal. 22 LR. S# K135709. Bbl. 4". K-22 double action revolver, mfg. by Smith & Wesson in 1952. Left side of the bbl. is stamped "SMITH & WESSON", with the cal. designation marked on the right. Right side of frame is marked with the S&W trademark logo, followed by S&W's mfg. information. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the trigger and hammer, which exhibit a case color hardened finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece S&W medallion checkered wood grips. Grooved rib with orange blade front sight and adj. micrometer square notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, cyl., ejector, and bbl. Interior of right grip panel is numbered "388776". Matching assembly #s are present on the frame and cyl. crane. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: non-matching Model 10-5 factory box. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light to mild edge wear and thinning, with thinning present on the ejector rod. Trigger and hammer's case color-hardened finish exhibits fading overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show some light smoothing to the checkering, as well as a few scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Box is very good overall, exhibiting some light exterior wear and a few spots of mild staining. (24-5624/MLW). CURIO. $750-1,000.
