Cal. 38 LC. S# 5088. Bbl. 6". Round blade front sight. Fixed rear sight. Matching numbers on grip frame & bbl. Cyl. & extractor appear to be numbered "5386". One of 1000 Model 1899 S&W Navy revolvers. Bottom of grip frame marked "USN (Anchor)" & "No 137 CAB". Blued finish with case colored trigger & hammer. Unnumbered checkered walnut grips with diamond center. CONDITION: grips show a couple abrasions, scattered dings, checkering wear & handling marks. Hammer & trigger retain traces of case colors with overall fading to gray & some oxidation. Balance of metal retains 50% original blue with overall fading to gray, scattered dings & oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bright bore. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of George Staden S&W Member #3451. (25-37/MJC). CURIO. $1000-1500.
