Cal. 32 RF. S# 27499. Bbl. 6" ribbed having brass blade front sight & notched latch at rear. Mfg. 1861-1874; 77,155 units. Used as Civil War side arm. Bbl., cyl. & left rear bottom of frame stamped "AA O". Matching numbered right walnut grip; left grip unmarked & much darker w/ rose wood appearance. Hammer spring in the white. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: poor brown leather flap holster w/ replacement flap attachment repair using garment button & corresponding hole in flap. Replacement 3/4" belt loop w/ section of holster under loop missing that corresponds to stitching of prior belt loop. CONDITION: fair to good general appearance w/ cleaned finish, traces of patina, handling marks (including grips) & slight looseness at latch. Mechanical functioning on 5 out of 6 chambers; 1 locks up. Fair, pitted & worn bore. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (01-22364/NW). ANTIQUE. $700-1,000.
