REVOLVER. Cal. 357. S# S152327. Bbl. 5". Model Pre-27 double action revolver, mfg. by Smith & Wesson, circa. 1956-1957. Left side of the bbl. is marked "SMITH & WESSON", with the cal. designation marked on the right. Right side of the frame is marked with the S&W trademark logo, followed by S&W's mfg. information. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the trigger and hammer, which exhibit a case color hardened finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece S&W medallion checkered wood grips. Bowman front sight, with Micrometer adj. square notch rear sight. Grooved grip straps and trigger. Matching numbers are present on the frame, cyl. crane, cyl., ejector, bbl., as well as on the interior of the right grip panel. Matching assembly #s are present on the frame and cyl. crane. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a few areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, some edge wear, as well as some scattered superficial handling marks. Trigger and hammer retain strong case coloring overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show some superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-5677/MLW). CURIO. $700-1,000.
