Cal. 32-44. S#. 722. Bbl. 6 1/2" w/ rib, German silver pinned blade front sight V notch rear sight. 6 shot fluted cyl. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer, trigger & trigger guard. 2 piece checkered hard rubber grips. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Smith & Wesson letter signed by Roy G. Jinks stating: "This model was introduced in 1887 and manufactured until 1910 with a total production of 4,333 revolver. This model was designed on our .44 Single Action frame at the request of Ira Paine, world famous target shooter. The revolver was manufactured in both .32-44 and .38-44 calibers as a target arm. It was manufactured with a 6 1/2" barrel in both blue and nickel finishes. We have researched your Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 Target revolver in company records which indicate that your handgun, with serial number 722, was shipped from our factory on September 2, 1889 and delivered to M. W. Robinson, located in New York City, one of our large distributors at that time." The revolver is housed in a home made wood shooters box. The box contains: Ideal loading tool w/ acc., cases, lead bullets & balls. test target & target pasters. CONDITION: 70% blue showing spots of finish loss w/ scratches & marks. Very good grips.
