Cal. 32 RF Long. S# 28571. Bbl. 6" oct. w/ rib & semi-circular German silver front sight. Six shot rnd. cyl. Tip up action bbl. pivot upward for loading. Spur trigger. Two piece rosewood square butt grips. Total of 77,155 were mfg. 1861-1874. S# is under 35,731 which indicates production before May 1st, 1875 & possible Civil War usage. CONDITION: metal has mottled gray/brown patina from touch up finish. Grips have good varnish finish showing sm. handling marks. Sound mechanics. Bore retains largely intact rifling showing scattered spots of pitting. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Kenneth Horn (Grandson of JC Higgins). (01-20649/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500.
