Cal. 22 LR. S# 5668. Bbl. 3 1/2" pinned. Ramped, serrated blade front sight and adjustable square-notch rear sight. This 1950s production kit gun revolver has matching numbers on the frame, bbl., cyl., and extractor. Case-colored trigger and hammer. Cyl. has a black Cerakote finish. Balance of metal has a blued finish. Unnumbered checkered hardwood grips with silver S&W medallions and what appears to be an added Social Security number on the inside of the right panel. CONDITION: grips show scattered notable flaking varnish, a small crack at the rear, some worn checkering, dings, and handling marks. Hammer and trigger retain a strong amount of their case colors but show overall fading and operational wear. Cyl. retains nearly all of its reapplied Cerakote with some edge and operational wear. The balance of metal retains 60% of its blue, with a ding on the bottom of the muzzle, scattered fading, and edge wear. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Bright, near-excellent bore. (24-6542/MJC). CURIO. $400-600.
