Overall length: 40 1/2". Blade length: 29 7/8”. This interesting sword appears to be of Southeast Asian origin and utilizes a katana blade. The blade does not exhibit a visible temper line, but the habaki is present. The hilt appears to be made from indigenous wood with extremely ornate solid silver bottom ferrule & pommel cap. The attachment pin just above the ferrule also appears to be solid silver. The scabbard is made from the same wood as the grip and features a steel tip & brass collar. This is an extremely attractive sword of laudable workmanship that deserves further investigation. CONDITION: blade has a good finish with a few scattered spots of oxidation. The grip has a crack under the pommel cover. Scabbard generally shows light wear. (02-21311-4/BF). $400-700.
