ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 4502h. Bbl. 23 1/2" with Cole import marking. Blade front sight. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Matching numbers on receiver and bbl.; other parts have mixed numbers. Receiver top has "S/27 1937" markings, denoting Erma mfg. in 1937. Left side of receiver has Russian capture "X" and eagles with a peened Party symbol. Locking screws and cleaning rod are missing. Rear action screw appears to be a more modern replacement. Arsenal-reworked blue finish, with the bolt release having a strawed appearance. Laminated stock set with left-side sling provisions. Rear band is reversed. CONDITION: cleaned stock set shows some chipping around the buttplate and scattered handling marks. Metal retains 85% Soviet arsenal rework blue with some blued-over pitting, edge wear, and light fading. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Very good, bright bore with some dried grease.
