SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x23mm Largo. S# 3680. Bbl. 5 7/8". Model 1921 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Astra under contract for the Spanish army in 1922. The top of the slide is marked with Astra's E/U logo towards the front sight, with "ESPERANZA Y UNCETA/ GUERNICA ESPANA/ PISTOLA DE 9M/M/ MODELO 1921" marked towards the rear. Left side of the forward trigger guard web is marked with a Pre-Spanish Civil War Spanish army acceptance proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the trigger, safety lever, and bbl., which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Astra E/U logo checkered horn grips, featuring a lanyard staple on the left side. Standard fixed half-moon blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, and bbl. Mag. is absent. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray and brown patinas, scattered superficial handling marks and small dings, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Bore exhibits scattered spots of mild pitting and streaks of dark mild pitting, while retaining fair to good rifling throughout. Grips show general overall wear, with several cracks present overall.
