ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38 WCF (38-40). S# 216564B. 24" half octagon to round barrel with button mag. Beech's folding front sight, original buckhorn rear sight, with period correct tang sight. Blue finish, with case colored hammer and lever. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock, with crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. Mfg. in 1887. CONDITION: 50% fading blue, showing carry and edge wear, with scratches and handling marks. Sides of hammer have some faintly visible case colors. Forearm shows light finish wear with few scratches and marks. Stock finish shows areas of blistering, with scattered scratches and marks. Sound action. Bore is generally bright, with strong rifling showing small spots of very light pitting. (01-27040/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,500-5,500.
