ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 long. S# 278357. Bbl. 24" octagon to round. Ivory bead Beach combination front sight, filler in rear dovetail with combination tang sight. Full length mag. Case colored action has nickel finished side plates. Forearm and pistol grip stock with ebony insert of XXX fancy walnut have style H factory checkering and crescent steel buttplate. Left inside of lower tang is marked with assembly number “2007” followed by wood grade marking “XXX”. Top tang channel stock has matching assembly number. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody firearms Museum letter stating: “Serial number applied on August 22, 1888/Type: Rifle/Caliber: 22L/Bbl. Type: 1/2 Octagon/Trigger: Plain/Checkered stock, Pistol grip/Frame, CS, side plate nickeled/Received in warehouse on August 25, 1888/Shipped from warehouse on August 27, 1888, Order number 11357”. CONDITION: fine. Bbl. and mag tube retain over 70% lightly faded blue. Action and buttplate retain over 50% light and fading case colors showing dark spots. Side plates retain over 80% nickel showing scattered spots of corrosion and freckling. Sound action, inside mag tube is intact. Bore retains strong rifling. (01-21794/DS). ANTIQUE. $10,000-15,000.
