ENGRAVED THREE GAUGE SET SXS SHOTGUN. Cals. 410 ga., 3", 28 ga., 2 7/8", 20 ga., 2 3/4" & 20 ga. 3". S# 25618. The following quote is from an appraisal for Mr. Leigh F. Coffin of Beatrice, Nebraska dated May 17, 2013. "This is one of the very finest multi barrel Model 21 shotguns known and is accompanied by all the invoices as well as correspondence documenting its history.". A letter from C.W. Hummel product service manager at Winchester-Western dated May 20, 1980, prior to the shotgun's upgrade, relays some of the interesting history of this remarkable shotgun, "According to our manufacturing records, Model 21 - #25618 - was built in August of 1950 as a DeLuxe, 20 gauge, Skeet gun, equipped with an extra set of 28 gauge skeet barrels. Why the location of the barrel inscriptions differ is unexplainable, unless one of the sets of barrels was replaced at a later date and not recorded. In any event, the gun does appear to be original. / Attached are some up-to-date photographs, and prices, for the various engraving patterns we offer. We should be able to work the #5 design around the barrel inscriptions without detracting from the appearance of the gun. You can also select substitute figures for those offered in the standard #5 design. This is common practice. The engraving will be still classified as #5 for the record. / I would not consider replacing the trigger plate or removing the inscription 'DeLuxe Skeet'. We can adapt the #5 pattern accordingly. The 'DeLuxe Skeet' designation adds to the gun's value. / Our actual history on gun #25618 is rather limited. We show it was originally built for Kerr's Sporting Goods in California on August 22, 1950. It is a Deluxe Skeet, 20 gauge with 28" ventilated rib barrels choked Skeet #1 and Skeet #1. It has a single trigger, selective ejection, and non-automatic safety. The stock was of pistol grip configuration, with a Winchester recoil pad and it had a 14" length of pull, 2 1/4" drop at heel, 1 7/16" drop at comb, and a 2" pitch down. The interchangeable 28 gauge ventilated rib barrels measured 26" in length and were also choked Skeet #1 and Skeet #1.". The famous Kerr's Sporting Goods of Loa Angeles, CA. was the dealer of choice for many Hollywood celebrities. CURRENT SPECIFICATIONS: Bbls: (1). original set, 20 ga. 2 3/4". 28" vent rib.
