Cal. 52 (56-56). S# 39308. Bbl. 22" carbine style. German silver blade front sight w/ carbine leaf rear sight. Receiver has 3 line Spencer Repeating Rifle Co. marking w/ Boston, Mass. address. Band fastened walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ saddle ring & bar on left side. 7 Rd. tubular magazine inserts through steel buttplate. Approx. 50,000 mfg. 1863-1865. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: "J. DAVY & CO" / NEWARK-N.J" leather cartridge box. 20 Rd. wood cartridge block holds 5 rds. of original Civil War 56-56 rimfire ammo. Box has age darkened appearance showing handling marks. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to mottled gray showing sm. dents. Wood has dark aged appearance showing numerous dents, scratches & marks.
