SNIPER RIFLE WITH NO. 32 TELESCOPIC SIGHT. CAL. 303 Brit. S# AD908. Bbl. 22". This rifle was converted to sporter configuration by replacing the stock set w/ a modern composite stock, the bbl. was shortened to 22" plus the front sight assembly less the protective ears was remounted on the bbl. Correct adj. aperture rear sight graduated to 1300 yards. Battle aperture has been removed. Blade front sight. The receiver is marked on the left side of the butt socket "M-47" which indicates the rifle was mfg. at BSA Shirley. Dated "1943", "FTR", "TR". Receiver is marked on left side w/ faint "NO. 4-MKI", "T". Receiver ring is marked on right side w/ export marking, "ENGLAND". Rifle is fitted w/ a telescopic sight which is marked on top of the steel tube "TEL. STG NO32 MKIII" / "O.S. 2039 A" / "AK&S NO17182" / "1944" / broad arrow. Scope rings are S# on the right side to the base. Base is numbered on the left side "G33011". The receiver is fitted w/ the correct bases. The telescope has a pointed post reticle w/ horizontal crosshair. Brass sunshade. Black composite sporting style checkered stock set. Buttstock has pistol grip w/ cap. Monte Carlo comb w/ raised cheek piece & checked buttpad. 1" Quick Detachable swivels plus 1" brown leather Bucheimer sling. MAGS: 1 Detachable 10 rd. CONDITION: stock set is in very good w/ scattered tiny handling marks. Rifle retains most of its factory rework black finish w/ thinning & light wear. Mag. and bbl. band have notable loss of finish. Telescope retains 50% original blue turning patina w/ light oxidation & very fine pitting throughout. Brass parts turning a dark patina. Optics are clear & serviceable. Bore is shiny w/ lightly worn lands. (24-1316/RW). MODERN. $400-600.
