Cal. 45-70. S# 535550. Bbl. 29 1/2" round. Blade front sight w/ Buffington rear sight. Low arch case colored 1884 dated breech block. U.S. Springfield marked lock. First type w/ 2 piece carbine style trigger guard. 2 band walnut stock w/ iron fittings. Left side has an SWP cartouche w/ 1892 date. Button tipped cleaning rod. Proper style leather sling in fair condition. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked foreign triangular bayonet w/ scabbard & U.S. marked frog. Bayonet will not slide completely over muzzle. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: photo of Paul Eseppi & 2002 Civil War exhibit. CONDITION: metal has faded to brown w/ spotted corrosion. Stock shows wear w/ numerous dents & marks having a small crack behind the lock. Bore retains strong rifling. PROVENANCE: ex-collection of Paul Eseppi. (01-25934/DS). ANTIQUE. $700-1,000.
