CARBINE CONFIGURATION. Cal. 45-70. S# 261286. Bbl. 24 1/4". Front & rear sights are not present. Rifle has been shortened from its original configuration to resemble a cavalry carbine. Walnut stock has been shortened leaving approx. 4" beyond bbl. band & tip rounded. Ramrod channel was not filled. 1884 Dated bridge block. 3 Notch tumbler. Flat lockplate. Trigger guard bow has been reversed but retains swivel. Solid rifle style buttplate. CONDITION: long comb stock has been refinished obscuring markings & leaving a slight loss of wood in inletted areas. Stock has moderate wear, dents, staining & scratches. Metal has moderate wear turning gray & patina w/ areas of light oxidation. Dark bore w/ scattered pitting throughout. (01-20314/RW). ANTIQUE. $250-350.
