MILITARY RIFLE BY BERETTA. Cal. 7.62 NATO. S# 177. Bbl. 23 1/2". Barrel is marked on right side "SA 6535448 2 63 Y14", "PM" & defense acceptance eagle. Barrels were shortened 1/2" by Beretta to allow a new chamber using the shorter 7.62 NATO cartridge. The balance of the rifle manufactured by Beretta & most parts are marked "PB" except the "WRA" marked hammer. This example was marketed by Springfield Armory Incorporated in the 1980s. Receiver is equipped w/ the steel filler block to allow only the shorter cartridges to be loaded in the magazine. Receiver is marked at rear "P BERETTA / MADE IN ITALY / 177 / CAL. .30 M1". Some markings have been enhanced w/ white. T105E1 type aperture rear sight. Front sight w/ protective ears. Stamped trigger guard. High hump gas cylinder lock. Gas cylinder lock screw has hex recess. Matching walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked at left rear w/ "PB" & "124924". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: included is the matching original Springfield Armory green & white shipping box. Also included is a technical manual from the Beretta Arms Company. The manual is English, printed in Italy. Original warranty card, Springfield Armory brochure w/ accessory list, 3 eight rd. clips & reprinted article from "S.W.A.T." magazine by Chuck Taylor, November 82 issue.
