Cal. 45 ACP. S# 83849. Bbl. 5" Colt Type 5 used on Colts from 425,000 to 710,000 (approx. 1918-1924). Mfg. 1914 within Army contract of 11,285 ending with S# 83855. Blued hammer with "S" on right side. Correct grips having large double diamonds with 11 rows in between. Correct features include: beveled top on firing pin retainer, flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop, short tang grip safety, long rounded hammer spur, thick tab safety plus slide stop (both without undercut), flaming bomb with bullseye inspector mark, long trigger with serrated face and U notched rear sight. MAGS: good blued MEC-GAR 7 rd. CONDITION: good to very good appearance as refinished; parkerized frame and blued slide. Frame best appearing; slide has faint markings and spots of prior pitting. Good plus grips with light hand wear; mostly on right. Fair to good bore with even light pitting and slight wear. (22-4234/NW). CURIO. $1,500-2,000.
