This is a beautiful example of Harrington & Richardson's model 1873 officer's carbine of Custer-era, tang sight, engraved silvered pistol grip cap, 22" barrel Harrington & Richardson proofed and marked. Large 4.5" silver presentation plaque: "1 of 1000 / SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MUSEUM / SILVER CARBINE / made for / NORM FLAYDERMAN / Staff Arms Consultant / Springfield Armory Museum". CONDITION: very fine to extremely fine overall, appears unfired, retaining virtually all its original silver plate with silver oxidation that can be polished bright. Crisp checkering and good burl pattern to walnut stock. Mechanically crisp with bright shiny bore. PROVENANCE: Norm Flayderman family collection. (25-2124/JS). MODERN. $3,000-5,000.
