Cal. 45-70. S# 442335. Bbl. 32 5/8" with pinned blade front sight and Buffington rear sight. Breechblock is case colored replacement with low arch and Model 1873 date. Springfield marked lock. 2-band stock with iron fittings. Left ear of stock has nicely visible "SWP" cartouche with "1889" date. Right side of stock at comb have added deeply stamped characters and numerals. Slotted tip iron wiping rod. CONDITION: bbl., receiver, and lock a have large percentage of dull lightly faded blue showing edge wear with scattered marks and small dents. Breechblock and top tang retain 70% lightly faded case colors. Sanded and refinished stock retains numerous dents and handling marks. Sound lock and action. Bright bore retains lightly worn rifling showing some very light pitting. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (01-27131/DS). ANTIQUE. $700-1,000.
