Cal. 30-06. S# 3287938. It appears that all parts of this rifle are contemporary w/ each other. The 24" bbl. is marked "SA" & dated "11/44". Springfield markings are at rear of action & left sight knob marked "Battle Range". Bolt marked "17 SA B4A". Operating rod & trigger group w/ stamped guard are also SA marked. Stock has circle "P" at grip, ordnance crossed cannons & "S.A." "N.F.R." square cartouche on left side. Right side of butt stamped "MRT". Rack no. "182" is in white paint on left side of butt. Rifle fitted w/ a web sling. CONDITION: good to very good. Metal parts retaining over 70% original parkerized finish. Stocks retain most of their oil finish w/ a considerable number of marks. Bore is bright & shiny. Throat ga. is 1.5, muzzle ga. is 2.75. Mechanically good. PROVENANCE: From the estate collection of Charles P. Obremski. (22-1262/MGM). CURIO. $800-1,200.
