NAVY LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm Parabellum. S# 1507. Bbl. 7 5/8". Custom Navy Luger semi-automatic pistol. The top of the bbl. extension is engraved with a crude Great Seal of the United States, with a spurious "A.E. STOEGER INC/ NEW YORK." marked on the right. Left side of the bbl. extension is marked with a Portuguese encircled triangle proof. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a reheated straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece contemporary checkered wood grips, and features a grip safety. Custom 7 5/8" bbl., with dovetailed Old Model pattern blade front side. Navy pattern V-notch rear sight, graduated 100-200. Most numbers are matching, with virtually all matching parts having been renumbered to match at one time. Hold-open latch is absent. MAGS: 1 8-rd. mag., with unmarked wood bottom. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning, scattered spots of surface oxidation, and varying degrees of pitting beneath the bluing overall. Navy rear sight retains a gray patina, exhibiting what appears to be a drilled hole on the underside. Strawed parts exhibit wear and thinning throw to gray patina. Mirror bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Contemporary grips show some smoothing and scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-1429/MLW).
