PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm Parabellum. S# 5856e. Bbl. 5 7/8". Navy Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM. The top of the bbl. extension is blank, with a spurious German Crown/N commercial nitro proof stamped on the left (also marked on the underside of the replacement bbl.). Toggle is marked with the intertwined DWM monogram. Metal components exhibit a nicely reapplied blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a reheated straw finish. Frame is mounted with a set of contemporary 2-piece checkered wood grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with navy pattern V-notch rear sight, graduated 100-200. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, and toggles, with some small parts likely having been renumbered at one time. Grips are spuriously matching via "56" on the interior of the panels. MAGS: 1 reblued 8-rd., with unmarked contemporary wood concentric circle bottom. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light wear and thinning, scattered superficial handling marks, some scattered spots of light surface oxidation, as well as some scattered spots of light to mild pitting overall. Strawed parts show some areas of wear, as well as scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Rear toggle pin exhibits a chip along its rim. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Contemporary grips are very good to excellent overall. (25-1424/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,400.
