FLINTLOCK DRAGOON PISTOL. Cal. 64. S# NSN. During the mid 18th Century many surplus European firearms were over stamped with Tower markings to realize a higher profit. This Potsdam dragoon pistol has 9-1/2" tapered round barrel with Prussian proofs and regimental markings "1 E 12 LWR" on breech end. Flint lock with inset brass pan and reinforced cock is deeply stamped with a crown and "GR" over "Potsdam" markings. Rear of plate is stamped "TOWER". Beechwood stock extends to muzzle with brass cap and is brass mounted. No markings are found. CONDITION: good with refinished stock. Iron parts show light cleaning to speckled dark silver and gray. Brass shows old cleaning and moderate toning. Stock is heavily refinished with rounded details and wood under metal. Dark pitted bore. Mechanically good and complete. (01-25598/MGM). ANTIQUE. $900-1,200.
