Cal. 12 ga., 2 3/4". S# 63278. Introduced in 1904, the Model 520-30 was discontinued in 1932. In 1942 the government purchased all available guns from Stevens including unused 520-30 receivers. The 520-30 tooling was still available and operable. The U.S. Ordnance Department standardized the M520-30 and placed orders for new guns. A total of 35,306 were purchased by the government during WWII including trench, riot and training versions. Bbl. 20" cylinder bore with brass bead. 6 Row handguard with proper plum colored bayonet lug. Square stern action features a top tang sliding safety. Right side of barrel and left front of receiver have "P" over flaming bomb markings. "US" is stamped on left side of receiver above trigger. Trigger guard is stamped "S" on angle portion and "M" forward of the bow. Web sling on original swivels. Small plain forearm and pistol grip walnut stock with original buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1913 dated Remington bayonet with crossed out markings above "US" on right side. Vietnam era green composite scabbard. Bayonet has worn finish with darkened scales. CONDITION: metal retains 80% lightly worn military finish showing slide and carry wear with fading along top of receiver. Wood has good finish showing scattered scratches and marks.
