RIFLE WITH SCOPE. Cal. .25-20. S# 51339. Bbl 26". No. 44 single shot target rifle chambered in .25-20 manufactured by Stevens A & T Co. The top of the barrel exhibits part Steven's address, with the remainder being beneath the rear scope mount, with the caliber "25.20" stamped on the left flat. Half octagon barrel featuring a German silver front sight as well as a Lyman Super Targetspot scope. Rear sight has been removed. Plain wood buttstock featuring a cresent buttplate, with a smooth wood semi-schnabel tip forend. Frame and lever exhibit a case color hardened finish, with the breechblock, hammer, and barrel being blued. Matching numbers are present on the underside of the receiver and barrel. CONDITION: frame retains large amounts of its original case color hardened finish, exhibiting some wear and thinning that shows through to gray patina. Lever and buttplate exhibit a gray patina. Barrel retains bountiful amounts of its original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light wear around the muzzle, a few minor superficial handling marks, as well as a couple extremely light spots of pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows some scattered marks and minor impressions from storage and handling, but are otherwise very good overall.
