Cal. 7.62x51 NATO. S# B2320. Bbl. 23 1/2", with an import marking. Blade front sight. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Shortened Chilean 1912 rifle, converted to a 7.62 NATO. Matching numbers on the bolt handle, trigger guard, and floorplate. Other parts, including the rear half of the bolt, are unnumbered or mismatched. Front locking screw is missing. Brightly finished receiver with the Chilean crest and "MODELO 1912-61 NATO" on top. Left side of the receiver has Steyr markings. Trigger appears to be a commercial replacement. Pistol grip hardwood stock set with bottom-mounted sling swivels and leather military sling. Strong Chilean 1912 cartouche on left side of butt. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Czech VZ-24 bayonet with scabbard. CONDITION: stock set shows scattered dings, scratches, and handling marks. Receiver and bolt are turning a gray patina, with some scratches, likely from cleaning, and scattered oxidation. Balance of metal is mostly a dull gray patina with scattered traces of arsenal rework blue and some oxidation. Very good bore. (24-1513/MJC). CURIO. $500-800.
