SHOULDER STOCK. Cal. 9mm Steyr. S# 4710d. Bbl. 5". Standard configuration Steyr-Hahn Chilean contract pistol with the Chilean crest on the left side of the slide, followed by "STEYR 1912", "MODEL 1911", and the "S" inspection marking. The right side of the slide "EJERCITO DE CHILE". The S# is on the left side of the slide and left side of the frame. Disassembly shows a matching bbl. "4710". Fitted with a external spur hammer and a rotatable safety on the left tang. Wood checkered grips with recessed border, panels secured with a single strawed screw at base. Upon importation "9MM" was marked on the left side of the slide with the remaining import marks applied to both sides of the lanyard loop. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: accompanied by a recently mfg. reproduction stock to simulate the early stocks offered by Steyr. This stock has a copper cast cup covered with black enamel paint. A checkered rotating lever on the left side serves to tension the inserted pistol. The cup is mounted to a hollow wooden stock, whose characteristics suggest a Chinese origin, the recess for the grip fitted with an additional laminate to ensure a tighter fit. CONDITION: the Chilean contract Steyr-Hahn is in G-VG condition, approx. 80% blue, with handling wear as befitting a service pistol. Approx. 30-40% of the front strap has toned to a gray with less noticeable thinning on the backstrap. Grips oil soaked with considerable flattening of the checkering. Generally bright bore with easily discernible rifling. Correct manual mechanics, the hammer needing to be slightly retracted the engage the safety at full cock. Reproduction stock is near excellent with scattered flecks of missing black paint over the cup, the balance of the stock and fittings near excellent. (25-3535/LMA). CURIO. $1,750-2,500.
