Cal. 8x56mm. S# 128Q. Bbl. 20". M95 straight pull bolt action carbine mfg. by Steyr and accepted in Austrian military service in 1917. The receiver is marked "STEYR/ M.95" over the chamber, with an "S" (indicating conversion for Spitzer ammunition) and "W-n (Austrian Eagle) 17" marked on the bbl. Underside of bbl. is Century Arms International import marked towards the muzzle. Metal components exhibit a blued finish, with the bolt assembly exhibiting a polished in-the-white finish. Plain wood buttstock has been sanded and revarnished, seemingly at an arsenal, with the original rear sling swivel having been replaced by a wood plug. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, bolt, bbl., as well as on the front bbl. band, and are force matched from the time of arsenal refurbishment. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some spots of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina. Bolt exhibits some spots of age related discoloration, but is otherwise very good overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting some light pitting and strong rifling throughout. Stock exhibits scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. The Collection of Curtis H Halvorson. (23-5965/MLW). CURIO. $200-300.
