ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 8x56mm MS. S# 11700. Bbl. 20". Top of the bbl. is marked "SPECIALLY MADE FOR CHAS. A. HEYER & CO.", with the S# marked on the right towards the breech. Top of receiver is marked "Patent/ Mannlicher/ Schoenauer/ M1908" within a matted panel, with "OESTERR WAFFENFABR.-GES.STEYR" marked on the left receiver wall. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. 1-piece full length Mannlicher stock features a blued steel nose cap, checkered panels at the forearm and wrist, and a cheekpiece on the left side of the butt. Pale handle front sling loop with hinged sling loop on toeline of butt. Grooved steel trapdoor buttplate, with 3-rnd. cartridge provision. Bottom buttplate screw is absent. Detachable rotary mag. Butterknife bolt handle (with grooved section on rear). Non-functional takedown style lever on front of trigger guard. Ramped front sight band mounted dovetailed rear sight are absent. Bolt is serial # "20269" on the rear of the handle. Bolt shroud is matching to the bolt via "69". Trigger guard is numbered "21564" on the interior. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, showing areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, with light to mild surface oxidation present overall. Heavily pitted bore retains fair rifling throughout. Trigger will pull when safety is engaged and fires when safety is disengaged. Stock shows moderate finish and checkering wear, with a large repair present at the toe. Interior of stock is cracked between the trigger and mag. cut outs. (25-5018/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
