MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 8x50R. S# 4666W. Numbers match on bolt, receiver & buttstock. Bbl. 30". Ladder rear sight graduated to 2,600 meters. Inverted V front sight. Receiver is marked on-top "STEYR / M.95". Bbl. dated "16" over chamber. Stacking rod & bayonet lug are present. Walnut stock set w/ bottom swivels. Tan leather sling marked "STOLLA WIEN". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 9 5/8" fullered blade bayonet made w/ inverted cutting edge. Right ricasso marked w/ encircled "AV" logo. Smooth hardwood grips retained by two rivets. Blued steel scabbard. Unmarked brown leather frog. Bayonet w/ light wear is finished bright & has been lightly sharpened. Grips have light wear. Scabbard retains most of an arsenal rework blue w/ small dents & light wear. Frog has tight stitching & light staining wear. CONDITION: stock set has the wear & handling marks commensurate w/ long service & has arsenal added finish. Buttstock has partially completed logo on right side w/ letters resembling "JP". Worn metal is turning overall gray & patina w/ traces of blue & areas of light oxidation w/ fine pitting. Bore has dark oxidized appearance w/ worn lands. (24-6511/RW). CURIO. $400-600.
